British baritone Nicholas Mogg is a Soloist at the Staatsoper Hamburg, where he was previously a member of the International Opera Studio. His recent roles include Belcore L’Elisir d’Amore, Harlekin Ariadne auf Naxos, Guglielmo Così fan tutte, Papageno Die Zauberflöte, Schaunard La Bohème, Ned Keene Peter Grimes, Silvio Pagliacci as well as Dancaïro and Morales Carmen, alongside world premieres from composers including Samuel Penderbayne, Lorenzo Romano, Johannes Harneit and Salvatore Sciarrino. Last season he made his debut at Opernhaus Zürich as Phileas Fogg in the world premiere of In 80 Tagen um die Welt by Jonathan Dove, his house debut at Teatro La Fenice as La Fama Venere e Adone by Salvatore Scarrino, and his debut at the Lucerne Summer Festival.
In the 26/27 season, Nicholas sings in three new productions at Staatsoper Hamburg: Aeneas Dido and Aeneas, the world premiere or Gordon Kampe’s Störtebeker, and a production of Hans Werner Henze’s El Cimarrón as part of the Staatsoper’s festival of Political Music-Theatre. He will also sing concerts in the Elbphilharmonie, Rotterdam, Ghent, and Amsterdam with the NDR Vokal Ensemble and the Orchestra of the 18th Century.
